Concentric iPhone style
Fill tool completely jacked me up on this sketch. If you aren't doing your color on a separate layer than your outlines, you can pretty much forget about going back and fixing fill tool changes. It's amazing to be able to sketch on the phone, but if you think about the ratio of finger to screen, its like trying to use a baseball bat as the stylus on your wacom tablet.
That aside, some of the things I wanted to see in future versions of sketchbookX have been answered. Nice to see app developers responding to the community, even on a free app. Brush size on the eraser and visualizing brush size is extremely helpful!

Long night at the shop
November 2009 has probably been the most productive month in the history of anti. Spent another late night at our shop in Norwood last night and snapped this shot at the end of the night. Printed up a couple nice colorways from the customizer. People seem to really be feeling the organic American Apparel 2001...

New NickZ, Auks, Anti
Link
Link
November has been a major major production month! You're looking at a new colorway for the original collab we did with AuksOne, a HUGE new tee designed by NickZ, and, after a year and a half long artistic hiatus, a new tee by yours truly. We've also completed a major collaboration effort with UGHH.COM that'll put two UGHH x ANTIDESIGNS tees on the racks in the next couple of days. Check back for photos of those tees soon.
Happy Thanksgiving to all our USA readers.

WuTang - Enter the Dubstep
I know this isn't a music blog, but I gotta throw this up here real quick. I haven't heard many of the tracks on this album, but I have to say I'm excited as shit for the backlash of having a full album of the wu over dubstep tracks. If you haven't heard of dubstep yet you're about to get cracked upside the head with it, so get ready.

iPhone sketch
I grabbed the free version of the SketchBookX app from the app store the other day. I gotta say, this is one of the best apps a creative person can own. I've been using it whenever I get a seat on the train and/or bus on the commute to and from work (you need two hands once you get into it). The free version gets you 3 layers to play with, a pen & brush tool, an eraser (wish this had a brush size option), color wheel, and a tool that creates a symmetrical version of every brush stroke you make. Here's a sketch I did on my way down to Lucy Parson's Center and back home (2 orange line trains, 2 red line trains, and a bus ride).

Nintendo on 1988 Inside Edition
I can't get over the fact that they had a call center. I wonder how many times they had to explain how to blow into the cartridge.

Fourth Wall Project
Found this little video on Nick Z's site this morning. Interesting story on how the Fourth Wall Project came about and another reason why you should get your ass down there before it turns into condos.

Nice collection of work
Checked out the Devestate your Real-Estate at the Fourth Wall on Friday. If you're in Boston anytime between now and the 18th of October - do what you can to check out the show. Very nice collection of artists from Boston & NY including Anti artist/collaborators Josh Falk & Evoker.

Worst T ad ever
When you are a commuter that relies on public transport everyday, there's nothing worse than a horribly put together advertisement staring you in the face for a half an hour. I've seen this particular ad a few times and it has irked me, but today was different.
Today there was a woman sitting down in front of me with two small children who were standing up in their seats the whole train ride. Punching each other in the face and screeching at the top of their little lungs while they spilled cheerios all over the place, I had to focus on not thinking about the accidents that have happened on the T this year.
I looked to the wall for a place to focus and all I find is this ad. I've taken the liberty of blocking out the name of the company in case this is some genious attempt at a viral ad campaign... It's hard to pinpoint exactly what bothers me the most, but I think its the drop shadow mixed with the bad cutout job on this guys hair that really gets me. But then again, it could be the fact that the company's tagline is "Your community credit union" and all that's listed is a website and 800 number. Either way, I can't wait to see this one go.

Background work
It's been a really rainy summer on the east coast so far. The sunny days has been few and far between since about middle of May. The good thing out of all these grey days is that I've had the chance to dig my feet in and get into some new artwork. This past week has been really productive... I've had both trouble & success with converting sketches into digital pieces. I've posted a couple things in the designs section of anti's site. Here's an earlier version of one of them.

From the sketchbook: Sowa Freshner
This is a sketchbook piece that I drew during the first day of the 2008 South End Holiday Market. We had a tight little nook between our friends Trisha & LeiAnne, who provided company during some of the weekends slower moments.
Check back for lots more sketchbook work here. As we feel out how this blog thing will work out, let us know there's something you've been wanting to see more of from us.

Hello and Goodbye
We've been meaning to start a blog for a long time and are happy you have found your way here.
A good place to start this whole thing is with the big change that's happened with us this year. Stiles, one of our founders back in 04, has stepped out of an owner's role at the beginning of this year. We'd like to thank him for everything he's done to get us to where we're at, especially especially especially in the printing department. He hopes to continue working with us on an art-only level in the small amount of free time that he has.
Big ups to Mr. Stiles and we hope that he continues to be involved in antiDesigns in any way he can.
